Homemade Taco Seasoning. Ole!

My family loves Mexican Night!
Tostadas, Hard Tacos, Nachos, Soft Tacos, Burritos, we love em all!

You have no idea how many times I have been making Tacos only to realize I didn't have one of those packages of taco seasoning! Grrrrrr
I'd have to stop what I was doing and run to the store!

Until Now!

Dana's Homemade Taco Seasoning.
  • 2 teaspoons dehydrated onion, Minced
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried red pepper, Crushed (Or more to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon instant garlic, Minced
  • 1 teaspoon cumin, Ground
Directions
  1. Combine all ingredients in a small bowl and blend well.
  2. Store in an air-tight container or baggie until ready to use.
To make Taco Meat Filling.
  1. Brown 1 lb lean ground beef over medium-high heat- drain. (I like to toss in some diced Bell Pepper now too)
  2. Add 1/2 cup water and the seasoning mix.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Makes enough filling for 8 to 10 tacos.
  5. Enjoy!!

  2. Sounds good. I prefer to make my own seasoning too.. so much more affordable than those packets and healthier too. I couldn't give up fresh onion in my tacos though!

The only thing you're missing are the jalapenos and dash of cayenne! We like it firey :D.

  5. The Homemade Taco Seasoning looks good. I’ll have to try it.

    I love fish tacos.

Taco Fish La Paz in Guadalajara, Mexico has a stand on Avenida La Paz in Guadalajara sounds like ‘Taco Nirvana’.

My experience in Mexico is that some of the best places to eat are those that are off the beaten path that the locals frequent.

I’ve been looking for good places to eat in Guadalajara and Taco Fish La Paz in Guadalajara sounds like just the place.

Fortunately, I live in Ajijic, Jalisco so the trip is a short one.

    My mouth is watering,

    Gracias!
